16/09/2006: Less fortunate families thank Tiong for immediate assistance.

Bintulu- The Member of Parliament for Bintulu Dato'  Seri Tiong King Sing JP was noticed to have provided immediate assistance to a few poor and needies families during his recent visit to the rural areas at Kemena and Jepak. 

Among them, Winnie Anak Jugan extent her heartfelt appreciation to the MP as her family was one among the 50 families from Rh. Buli, Naga Kelabai that razed to the ground on last Wednesday by fire. 

The 18 years old student was just admitted to the Institute of College Advance Technology Sarawak (ICAT) for her tertiary studies 4 months ago. 

Following the fire incident that made 500 people homeless, Tiong learned from the mother that they were among the majority fire victims, failed to rescue much of their valuable belongings.

Thus, the mother revealed the family’s financial constraint to further support the daughter’s studies in coming semester.

However, Tiong said the assistance would only be provided to the genuine hardcore poor family after a detail investigation.

A few students from the same longhouse were advised too to approach the MP’s  people service centre here for similar assistant.

Meanwhile, the family of a cancer patient Haida anak Jun (50 ) also received Tiong’s immediate assistance during the MP’s visit to Rh. Sullang yesterday.

The lady also refused to have her further chemotherapy at Sarawak General Hospital at Kuching whereby Tiong advised the family to persuade her for abiding the specialists' advice.
