Tiong assures no shortage of fuel in Bintulu

BINTULU:
Bintulu MP Dato Seri Tiong King Sing yesterday calmed the people here and
assured them that there was no oil shortage in town.
-
Although
petrol ran out in all Shell stations here yesterday, he said this was just
a technical error of the company. It had nothing to do with petrol shortage,
he added.

PUTRAJAYA:
Prime
Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced his new administration
on Tuesday, trimming his Cabinet from 32 to 27 seats, of which more than
half featured new faces.

"I hope
they will perform better than before and I believe that with the choice
we have made we will be able to fulfil our agenda," he said.

"I would
like to tell you that this term we would go into vigorous implementation
of our policies and projects.
-
I have
heard many times, and read many articles and comments by the people who
said Pak Lah (Abdullah) has worked out the policies well but is short on
implementation," he told a packed press conference at his office.

The Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) wants more representation
in the new federal cabinet in tandem with the focus on rural development
under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, its president Dato Sri William Mawan said
yesterday.

said he had conveyed his party’s request to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah
Ahmad Badawi during consultations on cabinet positions

They made millions of ringgit betting, Tiong described gambling of certain
BN members as "back-stabbing"

Bintulu
Member of Parliament, Dato Seri Tiong King Sing claimed some members
of certain Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties had made money
during the just-concluded 12th General Election through betting.

He described
the act as "back-stabbing" as it had betrayed the spirit
of the Barisan Nasional.
-
Tiong
claimed that he had evidence to prove those members had won millions of
ringgit betting on the straight fight he had with an opposition candidate.

BN does well in northern Sarawak

clear people want to keep things as they are

This message
was clearly sent via their votes where all the six parliamentary constituencies
in this part of the state were won by the Barisan Nasional (BN).

Leading
the jubilation was Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) treasurer
general Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who convincingly defended his
Bintulu seat by securing almost 73 per cent of the votes cast in the constituency
on Saturday.

Progresive Democratic Party (SPDP) Youth Chief Datuk Seri Tiong King
Sing won the biggest majority of 14, 965 votes for the Bintulu parliamentary
seat while Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth Chief Haji Fadillah
Yusof won with a majority of 14, 397 votes, the second highest majority
for the Petra Jaya parliamentary seat.

BINTULU:
Barisan Nasional incumbent Dato Seri Tiong King Sing lambasted the opposition
for misleading the electorate about the construction of the Aluminum Smelter
Plant (ASP) in Similajau here.
-
He called
on Democratic Action Party (DAP) to do its homework and study the matter
thoroughly before making any wild allegations such as the claim that the
project would become a health risk for the people because of pollution.

Groups trying to stop rural folk from voting

SIBU:
BN candidate for Bintulu Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing claimed that certain
groups were trying to stop rural voters from going to the polls.

Speaking
at meet-the-people sessions as he visited Rumah Yeos, Rumah Tangdang, Kemena
Port Housing Estate and Kampung Segan last weekend, he said several rural
people had complained to him about being persuaded not to go voting.

“ I
believe the groups are using various tactics to prevent them from voting
for the candidate of their choice."

DAP
should have done a research to fully understand situation before blindly
harping on the issue for votes

Election
leaflets distributed by the DAP hammered Tiong on the issue, claiming that
the incumbent had failed to help the Jalan Sultan Iskandar squatters to
get land for them to build their houses.
-
The
leaflets show photographs of government officials dismantling the houses,
and the DAP asks the people to vote for their candidate Lim Su Kien.
