Organising chairman Liew Ah Lek said the event would be dedicated towards garnering support from the locals here towards assisting the victims of the tidal wave disaster that had hit several countries including Malaysia on Dec 26.

In a statement Friday, he expected over 1,000 guests would be attending the event that would be graced by all the state SPDP leaders.

Proceeds raised during the night would be announced before the conclusion of the gathering where Bintulu Member of Parliament, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing would be handing over the amount to the party president, Datuk William Mawan Ikom.

The highlights would also involved sponsored performances by the VIPs to which the amount would also go to the fund.

Liew also expressed his appreciation to the sponsorships pledged by several organisations and individuals for the ocassion, including the local dance association and singers who had agreed to make voluntary performances in the upcoming event.
