| BINTULU: Several major roads at the town centre here will be used for
the Tua Pek Kong procession this Sunday from 8am to 10am and motorists
have been advised to take precautionary measures on entering the areas
concerned.
Bintulu acting OCPD, DSP Patrick Jemy Dundon said the procession will commenced from the town's Tua Pek Kong temple at the Main Bazaar Road towards the CityPoint traffic light before entering Keppel Road. The procession will continue on to Law Gek Soon Road and Sommerville Road before going back to the CityPoint traffic light and turning to the Abang Galau Road. On reaching the end of this road, the procession will turn to the stretch beside the Regency Plaza Hotel and into Masjid Road, Main Bazaar Road and the Abang Galau Dual-Carriageway right up to the town's entry point traffic. From the traffic light, the procession would proceed back to the temple through Court Road, Keppel Road, Law Gek Soon Road and the Main Bazaar Road. Considering the higher traffic volume during the weekend, there would not be a total road closure during the procession as one side of the lane in the respective roads involved could still be used by motorists. Throughout the procession, traffic policemen would be strategically placed to regulates the traffic and motorists were also advised to abide by any on-site instruction by the enforcement personnel during the period. "We hope all motorists entering the town area would be considerate to allow smooth running of the event and we definitely appreciated their cooperation over this matter," he added. |
