29/11/2005: Bintulu Collects 43 points in Dato' Seri Tiong Power Radio Boat Pan Borneo Race

BINTULU -Bintulu Team lifted the Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing Challenge Trophy when they were adjudged the overall winner in the Pan Borneo Remote Control Powerboat Race that ended late yesterday afternoon.

The team accumulated 43 points, followed by Miri Team with 12 points, Sibu (8 points), Kuala Belait, Brunei (5 points) Kapit (4 points), Kuching (3 points)and Long Lama (0 point) in the two-day race held at the man-make lake at Kidurong Heights.

The race, organised by Bintulu Radio Remote Control Association was divided into five categories which saw Bintulu Team sweeping the top spot in four categories.

Francis Ngu Heng Tah of Bintulu won first placing in the Monohull Gas Engine 43 cc category, Tunnelhull Gas Engine 43 cc and Tunnelhull Gas Engine Super Class respectively.

His teamate, Ling Ning Loong also grabbed the top prize in the tunnelHull Gas Engine 35 cc (Local Modified) category.

Hulba Danyal of Miri denied the clean sweep of Bintulu by emerging winner in the Import Gas Engine Open Hull.

Cash prizes and trophies were presented to winners of the respective category by Ling Ah Ling and Thomas Ng of SPDP.
