| Bintulu: Sarawak Progressive Democratic
Party (SPDP) treasurer General, Dato' Seri Tiong King Sing has urged all
members of the party to uphold the Barisan Nasional spirit feven if they
want to lobby for any of the new parliamentary or state seats.
While it was the members' democratic right
to voice their opinions, he felt that it was also important for such opinions
to be voiced out properly.
"The top leadership in the Barisan Nasional
would always consider all opinions expressed but I must remind all our
members that there is a clause that preserved their rights to voice their
opinions through proper channel," he said when contacted yesterday.
He was commenting on the recent war of
words between the SPDP Batu Kawa division chairmant Albert Chin and his
Satok Division counterpart, Sim Hang Seng over the issue of lobblying for
the newly delineted Kota Sentosa state constituency.
Expressing his disappointment over the
fact that the issue had been stirred up publicly, he said the party leadership
had always listened to the voices of the grassroots and would willingly
submit their requests to the top leadership.
